Yet more of the back garden is moved and placed on the front lawn. The lawn is now more or less covered in pieces of trees, shrubbery and blocks - reaching a couple of feet high. Darcey refers to it as a forest, as it looks a bit like a small one when you look out of the living room window!
The boys mark out the shape of the paving. My work PC has a problem so I'm not able to do much work. As a result Mike and I are able to join the discussion. It's bitterly cold out, and difficult to drive a stake into the ground to attach a string and ensure that curves look correct. We debate the the balance of paving and lawn, and try to consider door openings etc.
Zoe's mum looks after D, but with Zoe's PC disaster and everything else going on Mike isn't able to get any further with tiling the kitchen floor.
The boys visit a local building merchant to check out some prices. They come back with quotes and tell us that they will need a 1.5 ton digger tomorrow, and a skip. Mike arranges for the digger to be delivered at 8am. We struggle to get hold of the skip company, and leave a message for them to return our call.
