Sunday 13 September 2009

We've spent the last 3 days at mum and dad's caravan. They took delivery of their holiday home a few weeks ago, and after receiving a quote for £6.5k to build a deck for it they have decided to build it themselves. Deliveries were lined up for work to begin on Friday 11-Sep-09. We traveled up on Thursday evening. On Friday Zoe worked from 'home' at the caravan using Mike's 3G card and plug in wireless LAN, whist dad, Mike and Uncle Dave (who has the caravan opposite) began work on the decking project. Grandma Val & Dave's Val took D to the beach at Cleveleys. Gareth & Ellen visited on Saturday, which meant that there was an extra pair of hands for building the deck. Zoe wasn't feeling great that day and was grateful that Grandma, Val and Ellen were on hand to watch over D (who should have been at a 1st birthday party that day)... Dad, Mike and Dave continued work on Sunday, although by the end of the afternoon it looked like the work was beginning to take its toll... We drove home at dusk, via the illuminations. It was nice to see D, ready for bed, all snuggled up in her car seat taking in the lights for the first time.
