Monday 08 June 2009

Last Tuesday we attacked the patio furniture with wire brushes and scouring pads. Despite looking patchy it looks a lot better now that dirt and loose paint has been removed. On Wednesday Mike was able to apply primer to the exposed bits of metal. It's now ready for painting, once the weather improves again.

Mike also started work on boxing in the soil pipe in the new shower room. After removing the loo, he created the wooden frame, and used plasterboard (& anglebead) to cover it. He then plastered the section that will be on show & parts of the ceiling & walls (where the old coving had been removed). Any rough bits were sanded down, and holes filled. Then the ceiling and new plasterwork has received a couple of coats of base paint. On Thursday we collected the remainder of the wall tiles from Zoe's parents. So now, after measuring and marking out the walls we're ready to tile...
