The boys continue to work on the front drive. They add more blocks and re-set the grid to the water meter. We’d intended to move the skip today, before the blockwork at the end of the drive is completed. However, there’s still space in the skip (and we have some more stuff to throw out) so we decide to keep the skip until Monday. The trouble is that the skip lorry is likely to crush the new drive, so we order some ply wood to protect the new block work (along with 3/4 ton of sand from Jewson). It all seems like a pointless plan when we hear a rumour that the skip company has gone bust. A phone call to the office does nothing to resolve our concerns (there’s no answer), but we get through later in the day. We learn that the company are operating from difference premises.
Mike finishes the last of the flexible adhesive off and puts down the remaining full tiles in the kitchen. This leaves approx 12 tiles still to cut and be fitted before the kitchen can be grouted.
